![]() ![]() By midgame earning money is mostly a formality, anyway. Golgotha is full of really dangerous stuff, so you want to spend as little time there as possible. Golgotha is dangerous, and its entirely worth burning all your injectors to get through it. I figure if I can get to midgame without cheese, I don't have to feel guilty about rewarding myself with free stuff. Carry lots of healing injectors and use them as soon as you take serious damage. I get to level 21 or so the hard way, then I give in to the Proselytize+merchant cheese. The first three abilities are completely vital in the late game, unstable genome keeps the build from getting boring. Precog, Clairvoyances, Regeneration, Unstable Genome x2. Go there, the legendary merchant will be 2-3 stratas deep in a pacific underground, drop all your water, then use Wait command until youre 2-3HP, Dominate, kill your original body. There are lots of ways to get high damage - skills, stats, weapons, guns, tinkering, grenades - but there is only one way for mutants to safely drink Neutron Flux, and only one way for mutants to detect enemies that can inflict instant kills before it's too late.Īpostle, 18 in all stats 14 in ego, optionally dump ego all the way to 10 to bump wisdom, toughness, or intelligence higher. Run to the Six Days Stilt to get level 6 or 7, then to Kyakukya, and to buy an advert to the workshop of a legendary merchant. Right now my favorite ego abilities are the good old Precognition and Clairvoyance. You ALWAYS want at least one physical mutation at chargen just for the RA's. Theyre also somewhat slow to start, and require some knowledge of which mutations to learn as you advance, so theyre not necessarily a good choice for a beginner but with the right initial mutations, even the early game wont be too tough. ![]() That said, I think physical mutation Electrical Generation or Freezing Hands is way stronger than Pyro/Cryo, especially when you throw RA's into the mix. Dedicated Espers are by far the most powerful character type in Caves of Qud. Put all extra stat points you gain from leveling into willpower up to 32 for an 80% cooldown reduction, use your mutation points to power up your core mutations rather than buying new ones.
